"Hell Paso" was the first 7" single from At The Drive-In, from El Paso. Originally released in 1994 on the bands own Western Breed Records, this record is storied to have been funded using guitarist Jim Ward's personal college savings. I'll go out on a limb and say that he probably doesn't regret that decision.
1994 Western Breed Records
1. Grand Mox Turkin
2. Red Planet
3. Emptiness Is A Mule
I remember the first time I saw At The Drive In play in Las Vegas. They were opening up for Good Riddance, AFI, & By The Grace Of God @ the Huntridge (R.I.P.). The crowd for the most part was your typical jerk off that liked any thing off of Fat Wreck Chords or Epitaph. ATDI were heckled with every homophobic insult in the book but still they managed to kick so much anus!
ReplyDeleteThanks Mark for posting this 7". I had this on a dubbed cassette and haven't heard this in over a decade. Classic ATDI!
