The Surprise Party - demo

The Surprise Party were an "emo" band from from Austin circa 1997. Containing a member of Kodiak and a current member of Hello Lovers, The Surprise Party were together for a very short time playing only a handful of shows while they were around. In addition to this demo tape, they also appeared on the "There Is A Light" compilation CD which is available here.

  1. Are you fucking kidding me? I can't believe you still have one of those crap tapes! Wow. Those were recorded on (or should I say over) free, professionally released tapes that we nabbed from Tower Records. So, the sound quality is, erm, not perfect. But we were broke and resourceful.

The Surprise Party also featured a member of Anomie and current member of JBe.

Thanks for preserving these tunes. I was in the band, but don't have one of these tapes, or a tape player. It's cool to have them in a digital format. Awesome.
